These data are designated as experimental statistics as they are still in development, with a potentially wider degree of uncertainty in the resulting estimates as the methods and processes are established and verified.

Scottish Government will be continuing to collaborate with our data collector, SAC Consulting and Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) to further develop and test these data through the Farm Business Survey. This development will include improvements to methodology where possible and consider how these data are meeting user need. This development is anticipated to continue over the next few years.

Scottish Government will continue to engage with data users through our regular Show and Tell events to gather feedback on the use of this data and with topic experts who have identified where this data is being used.
