First Minister use of a chauffeur driven car: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.


Information requested

Will outgoing First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will still have:

  1. The exclusive use, on request, of a chauffeur driven car.
  2. . Is this exclusive use by her alone, and not the incoming First Minister?
  3. If continued use, what is the explanation for her to have its use.
  4. How long does the Scottish government expect this to be the case that she has access to a chauffeur driven car.
  5. The expected cost for said duration of the chauffer driven car, based on point 4 above.
  6. Under what circumstance will this be withdrawn, if she is allowed access to a car, after her leaving the role of First Minister?

Response

On demitting office, a First Minister no longer has access or use of the Government Car Service.
