Scottish fishing vessel licence variations announced on 28 June 2024.


Marine Directorate: Drone (RPAS)Trial

For awareness, from mid-June to mid-July 2024, Marine Directorates Marine Protection Vessel (MPV) Hirta will be trialling of the use of Remote Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) technology to support fishery controls by providing additional surveillance capacity. The RPAS will be launched from MPV Hirta and operate within 3nm of its position, and may be visible during Hirta's inspections of fishing vessels.
