Information requested
You asked for:
The original business case for the £10 million Food and Drink Fund announced by Nicola Sturgeon on the 23 March 2017; whether any money has been assigned from this Fund and for a list of what to; who the industry financial supporters of this fund are and how much they have each pledged and how much the government expected to leverage from industry financial supporters for this Fund.
Response
I enclose a copy of the approved business case supporting the delivery of the Ambition 2030 national food and drink industry strategy. This provides details of the £10m funding allocation to support the food and drink industry over 2017-2020. The industry financial supporters of this funding are Scotland Food & Drink. Scotland Food & Drink generate private sector income through a membership model, with approximately 400 members at present. It is expected that funding will contribute towards turnover in the food and drink growth sector growing to £30bn by 2030.
