Information requested

In relation to coffee cups could you please disclose:

• The number of disposable cups that been purchased in the 12 months, broken down by Scottish Government Directorate.

• The number of reusable cups that been purchased in the 12 months, broken down by Scottish Government Directorate.

Response

The Scottish Government provides catering services, through a contractor,at nine sites across Scotland. I can confirm that in the 12 month period from 1 September 2016 to 31 August 2017, the Scottish Government purchased the following at these sites:

• 446,056 disposable cups
• 1023 re-usable cups – this comprises both plastic, travel-mug style, cups for resale to Scottish Government staff and ceramic cups for use in staff restaurants.

The Scottish Government does not hold this information broken down by Directorate.
