Information requested
How many students studying degree level courses at Scottish universities, had their tuition fees paid by public funding for the 2016/17 and 2017/2018 academic years?
This should be broken out by:
- Students resident in Scotland
- Students resident elsewhere in the EU
On the 15 December 2017 we sought clarification to your request and you confirmed that for point 1 you were only looking for undergraduate degrees and for point 2 you were only interested in non-payable tuition fee funding.
Response
I enclose a copy of all of the information you requested:
SAAS have paid the tuition fees of 82,830 Scottish domiciled students studying degree level courses at Scottish universities in 2016/2017 and have so far allocated tuition fee support to 84,010 Scottish domiciled students for 2017/2018 session.
SAAS have paid the tuition fees of 13,570 EU domiciled students studying degree level courses at Scottish universities in 2016/2017 and have so far allocated tuition fee support to 13,325 EU domiciled students for 2017/2018 session.
