Information requested

We are writing regarding your email asking for information about "…Which department was the Scottish Gov and gcc answerable to in the Celtic fc state aid case' 2 years ago."

Response

The Scottish Government acted purely as a conduit for information between the Council, the club, the UK Government and the European Commission who consider any State aid complaints. The Commission assessed whether the measures in question were carried out in compliance with State aid rules. Based on the information they received, the competent services of the Director General for Competition in the European Commission have not pursued the matter further.
