You asked:
- Does Mr Peter Murrell hold any official position in the Scottish Government?
- Does Mr Peter Murrell undertake any official duties on behalf of the Scottish Government or has he undertaken any such duties in the past?
- Does Mr Peter Murrell receive ANY FORM of financial payment, including expenses, from the Scottish Public Purse or has he received any such payments in the past?
- If Mr Peter Murrell does, or has, received ANY FORM of financial payment from the Scottish Public Purse, what do, or did, the payments cover?
Response
In relation to question one, Mr Murrell does not hold any official position in the Scottish Government.
In relation to question two, Mr Murrell does not undertake any official duties on behalf of the Scottish Government. On occasion and when appropriate to do so Mr Murrell will accompany the First Minister on engagements.
In relation to questions 3 & 4, the cost of Mr Murrell's flights have been met by the Scottish Government on 3 occasions in line with paragraph 9.25 of the Ministerial code. This is the only expense incurred. Mr Murrell does not receive any form of payment.
