Information in respect of Applications to join the PVG Scheme.

Response

The statistics we have included show the days between the applicant signature and receipt by Disclosure Scotland, the average days for Disclosure Scotland to process the application and the total days between applicant signature and the certificate being issued. The total number of applications that the organisations have submitted during the specified time of 1st September 2017 until 1st November 2017 are also supplied.

Please be aware that a PVG application has to be countersigned by a registered individual in the organisation mentioned before the submission can be made to Disclosure Scotland. Once Disclosure Scotland has received the application we have a Service Level Agreement (SLA) of 14 working days to complete the necessary checks. 90% of PVG applications are completed within 14 days (not including postage time) provided there no mistakes or requests for further information. Occasionally further checks or enquiries have to made on applications which may exclude them from our SLA objective.

1 - Average processing time in days for Disclosure Scotland is taken from time of receipt of application at Mail Room to time of Printing Certificate. Processing time includes exception times (e.g. time waiting for further information from applicant, time waiting for further information from police forces or courts on any applicant criminal history or other relevant information etc. It also includes weekends and non-working days for Disclosure Scotland e.g. bank holidays)
