Response

The Scottish Government does not hold figures for the number of request answered within the 20 working days limit. We record whether cases were answered on time based upon the statutory deadline for that case. This may include EIR requests where the deadline has been extended by up to an additional 20 working days. We have therefore interpreted your request as asking for the number of cases that were answered within the statutory deadline.

At the time of your request, in 2018 the Scottish Government received 2280 requests and responded to 2041 within the statutory deadline. The number of requests received in 2018 includes requests which were received at the time of your request but which would not have reached their deadline to be answered. You may find it helpful to note that the Scottish Government had responded to 93% of requests received on time for the cases which fell to be answered up to the date of your request.
