Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
Date received: 8 October 2018
Date responded: 1 November 2018
I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested.
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested.
The reasons why we don’t have the information are explained below.
The Scottish Government does not have the information.
The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for because the poverty statistics come from a UK survey, which doesn’t have a large enough sample to produce meaningful ethnicity statistics at the level of local authorities.
For more detailed ethnicity breakdowns, there are few respondents in the survey for each year from Scotland. By pooling ten years of data we are able to produce a more detailed statistical breakdown, but unfortunately this is the limit of what we can do with the data we have.
This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.
The Scottish Government is committed to publishing all information released in response to Freedom of Information requests. View all FOI responses at http://www.gov.scot/foi-responses
