Information requested

Information about the funding of disability inclusion at the Maryhill and Possilpark Citizens Advice Bureau. You have asked if the object of the funding is to purchase software for people who are dyslexic and other equipment for people who are disabled.

Response

Scottish Government fund the Maryhill and Possilpark Citizens Advice Bureau in connection with an Equalities Project. The purpose of the project is to broaden the volunteering opportunities for protected characteristics individuals to increase confidence, skills/knowledge, aspirations, and community cohesion by ensuring equal participation and representation in public life. It is anticipated that as a part of the project volunteers will gain workplace experience to access paid employment and/or further education/training.

The funding for the project is not explicitly for the purchase of software for people who are dyslexic and other equipment for people who are disabled. However, Maryhill and Possilpark Citizens Advice Bureau have committed to making advice and information more inclusive and accessible as a part of the project. How they do that is a matter for Maryhill and Possilpark Citizens Advice Bureau to determine.
