Response

The answer to your first two questions is that 2,792 individuals completed applications for the August 2017 intake. A total of 22 were offered a place. All of whom accepted.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested.  The reasons why we don’t have the information are explained in the Annex below.

ANNEX

REASONS FOR NOT PROVIDING INFORMATION

The Scottish Government does not have the information

The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for because we do not currently collect this information from candidates. The GDP is open to anyone with a degree, we encourage diversity through our pre-campaign outreach activity to potential applicants and we are working to create an indication of social background by monitoring successful candidates’ postcode data.

This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.
