Response
1. Some of the information you have requested is available from DWP’s benefit statistics collection, Stat-Xplore: https://stat-xplore.dwp.gov.uk/. This collection includes the number of people in receipt of Carers Allowance, broken down by local authority and other geographies. These data are currently available on a quarterly basis to the end of May 2018. An update will be published on Tuesday 14th May 2019, which will include the quarter up to the end of November 2018.
The latest quarters for Fife are:
At end August 2017 | At end November 2017 | At end February 2018 | At end May 2018 |
5,231 | 5,401 | 5,505 | 5,671 |
2. The Scotland Act 20161 gives Scottish Parliament powers over a number of
social security benefits which had been administered to Scottish claimants by the
Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). As of September 2018, Carer’s
Allowance became the first of these benefits to have executive competency
transferred from DWP to Social Security Scotland, the executive agency of Scottish
Government which is responsible for delivering the social security benefits for
Scotland. As such, the Scottish Government will be publishing summary statistics on
recipients of Carer’s Allowance in Scotland on 14th May 2019:
