Breakdown of external funding received by Scotland: FOI release

You asked:
Under the Freedom of Information Act, please advise how much funding Scotland receives from outside of Scotland.

I gather your funds come from the U.K., EU can you please advise how much has been received annually for the last 5 years please.

A list of the funds received by the Scottish Government from both Her Majesty’s Treasury and the European Union can be found in the following tables:

a) Funding received from Her Majesty’s Treasury

*The Net Block Grant Adjustment is a figure calculated by HM Treasury to reflect the devolution of tax raising powers to the Scottish Government as agreed in the Scotland Act (2012) and the Scotland Act (2016) which is then subtracted from the initial Block Grant.

The “Total” is the amount received from the UK Government with the balance raised from Scottish Taxpayers.

This is all the funding that flows through Scottish Government. 

There are other elements of EU funding that flow into Scotland more widely, for example Scottish Universities directly access EU research funding.  We do not hold any information on this.
