The Association of British Credit Unions correspondence with Ministers: FOI release

Your request of 13 December 2019 You asked: “Can I please request all correspondence and meeting minutes between Jamie Hepburn and ABCUL(Association of British Credit Union) in the last 12 months?”
Your request of 6 January 2020 You asked: “Can I please request the last 18 months communications including minutes of meetings and letters between the Minister Jamie Hepburn and A.B.C.U.L (The Association of British Credit Unions)?”
Response
Enclosed are copies of all of the information you have requested. This comprises one exchange of correspondence between Jamie Hepburn, Minister for Business, Fair Work and Skills and ABCUL during the past 18 months. The exchange includes an email which contains a small amount of Scottish Government employee names and contact details. These comprise the personal data of a third party and they have been redacted in accordance with Section 38(1)(b) of FOISA.
In addition, there are three letters issued by Mr Hepburn inviting ABCUL to attend the Ministerial Discussion Forums on Statutory Debt Solutions hosted on 1 May 2019, 12 September 2019 and 18 December 2019. These invitations contain contact details for individuals outwith the Scottish Government and therefore their details have also been redacted in accordance with Section 38(1)(b) of FOISA.
To disclose this information would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and in section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018. This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.
There have been no meetings held between Mr Hepburn and ABCUL during this period.
