Information requested
With reference to FOI 201900003035:
You asked for "Can I clarify who paid for the flights?"
and
"In addition to my previous email, I’d be grateful if you would detail the destination of the flights and how they were – in other words, I require a breakdown in the public expenditure. I also require what class these flights were – eg economy, economy plus, business class, first class, etc.,..
Response
Mr Murrell has accompanied the First Minister on two visits in the last 12 months, one was to Stornoway and the other was to Nice, France, costing a total of £1172.61. This figure differs from the previous response, £1223.90, due to receiving the final invoice from our travel management company. With regards to the Stornoway flight, no costs were borne by the Scottish Government. The return flights to Nice, include a direct flight to Nice and the return to Edinburgh was via Paris, they were all economy. As set out in the Scottish Ministerial Code, partners may accompany Ministers on official duties when appropriate and expenses incurred may occasionally be paid from public funds. Mr Murrell's flight costs for Nice were met by the Scottish Government.
