IVY Project Funding: FOI Review

Information requested

Please advise the total amount of Government funding given to the IVY Project, which was based in the Centre for Youth and Criminal Justice at Strathclyde University until November 2019, for the year from 1 April 2019 – 31 March 2020.
Please advise the total amount of Government funding given to the IVY Project, which was based at Kibble Education and Care Centre from November 2019, for the year from 1 April 2020 – 31 March 2021.

Further to my letter of 25 June, I have now completed my review of our failure to respond to your request under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA) for data concerning the amount of Government funding granted specifically for the delivery of the IVY Project which has been based at Kibble since 28 November 2019:
Please advise the total amount of Government funding given to the IVY Project, which was based in the Centre for Youth and Criminal Justice at Strathclyde University until November 2019, for the year from 1 April 2019 – 31 March 2020.
Please advise the total amount of Government funding given to the IVY Project, which was based at Kibble Education and Care Centre from November 2019, for the year from 1 April 2020 – 31 March 2021.

In accordance with section 21(4) of FOISA, I have also reached a decision on your request.
Firstly please accept my apologies for not responding to your initial request within the 20 working days timescales. You confirmed in an email to me on 25 June that your initial request, dated 15 May, had been posted to the address at Victoria Quay, Edinburgh. Due to the coronavirus pandemic Victoria Quay has been closed since April and mail distribution arrangements have been disrupted during this time. Unfortunately as a result, your request was not passed to the appropriate team for a response. I can now provide our response to your original request. The answers to your questions are:

• A total of £220,000 Government funding was given to the IVY Project, which was based in the Centre for Youth and Criminal Justice at Strathclyde University until November 2019, for the year from 1 April 2019 – 31 March 2020. £137,842 was given to Strathclyde University for delivering the service until the end of November 2019 and a further £82,158 was given to Kibble to deliver the service from December to the end of March 2020, totalling £220,000.
• The total amount of Government funding available to the IVY Project, which is based at Kibble Education and Care Centre from November 2019, for the year from 1 April 2020 – 31 March 2021 is up to £306,166 as per the grant letter issued to Kibble in March 2020.
