Information requested

From 27 July 2020 to present (2 September 2020 - the date of requests):

Copies of any correspondence (emails, hand-written notes, briefing, Whatsapp messages, minutes of meetings, minutes of calls and/or otherwise) between civil servants, special advisors and/or any member of the Scottish Government cabinet on the referendums bill that will be brought forward as outlined in the 2020-21 Programme for Government.

From 27 July 2020 to present (16 October 2020 – the date of requests):

Copies of any correspondence (emails, memos, hand-written letters, notes, minutes of meetings, minutes of calls, whatsapp messages and/or otherwise) to and/or from civil servants and/or Special Advisors and/or any member of the Scottish Government Cabinet members regarding the Referendums Bill.

Response

I attach a copy of some of the information you requested, this information is enclosed at Annex A.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, exemptions under Section 29(1)(a) Formulation or development of government policy, Section 30(b)(ii) Free and Frank Provision of Views, Section 36(1) – legal advice and 38(1)(b) (Personal Information) of FOISA applies to some of the information requested. The reasons why these exemptions apply are explained in Annex B of this letter.
