Response

The information about this payment in the 2018-19 Scottish Government Consolidated Accounts can be found on page 58 of the following document under Payment to former First Minister:

Scottish Government consolidated accounts: 2018-2019 - gov.scot (www.gov.scot)

As set out in the Consolidated Accounts, the funds were paid from the Scottish Government “Administration” budget. As confirmed in the Accounts, the costs were identified as a “special payment” agreed through a formal approval procedure and notified in the annual accounts.
