Could you please tell me who paid for the James Hamilton QC inquiry and how much it cost.

Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. However, in the interests of being helpful, the relevant information is provided
below.
"Appointment as an Independent Adviser does not attract payment. Reasonable travel and subsistence costs will be paid in line with normal Civil Service rules".
The Scottish Government has covered the costs of legal support, and communications software required for the investigation.
The costs of these are set out below:
Legal advice: £10,750
Communications software: £30
