Response
After performing a comprehensive search of our Scottish Government systems, the only documents found within the scope of your request were the official Ministerial briefing and notes taken at the time of the meeting. The agenda, attendees along with details of the venue are listed within the official Ministerial briefing.
The cost of dinner was £787.77 and was met by Scottish Government.
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not hold some of the information you have requested. There were no minutes or notes from the meeting as this was an informal event, nor were there any speeches or pre-prepared words drafted to deliver to the attendees and no subsequent post meeting action points were noted.
As such, this is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not hold some information that would fall within the scope of your request.
ANNEX A
REASONS FOR NOT PROVIDING INFORMATION
Section 38(1)(b) – Personal data
This exemption applies to some of the information requested because it is personal data of a third party, i.e. names and contact details, and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and in section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018. This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption
