Recruitment of Associate Chief Nursing Officer: FOI release

I understand that there has been a recent appointment of the above post - Gillian Costello. Please could you advise as to where this post was advertised? How did this meet the Equalities Act? How did this meet the One for Scotland Recruitment Policy? How many applicants were shortlisted? Who was on the shortlisting panel? A copy of the job advert and date of interview.

With regard to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer post that you have enquired about. I can advise that the post was not recruited using a competitive tendering exercise and was arranged as a Service Level Agreement with an NHS Board. It might be helpful to explain that within the Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorates, where the service provider is NHS Scotland, a Service Level Agreement may be used without the need for a competitive tendering exercise. This provides a helpful way for the Scottish Government and NHS Scotland to work together collaboratively, procuring services in the form of expertise and skills not readily available in the Scottish Government.
