The Scottish Crannog Centre grant awarded by Scottish Government: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002


Information requested

On or about 2 August 2021 the Scottish Government made a grant of £51,000 to The Scottish Crannog Centre (reported here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-58063280) Under and in terms of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 please provide the following information:

  • Such documentation as the Scottish Government holds as to the terms on which the grant was made; and
  • Such documentation as the Scottish Government holds as to the circumstances in which it would be entitled to clawback the grant.

Response

Attached is a copy of the information requested. Please find attached copies of the grant letter from Museums Galleries Scotland to the Crannog Centre – which contains the terms under which the grant offer was made – and the grant letter from the Scottish Government to Museums Galleries Scotland – which details the circumstances under which the Scottish Government can recover grant funding (Section 9, Page 6). Please note that we have the permission of Museums Galleries Scotland to release this information.
