Risk Management Scotland: FOI release

Information requested

(i) the total costs incurred by Risk Management Scotland from 2014 to the present day, including all secretariat staffing costs, daily board member fees and expenses, events, publications and officerunning costs; and

(ii) a record of all engagement between board members and Scottish Government ministers and Cabinet Secretaries from 2014 to the present day.

After clarification was sought on 6 October 2021, you confirmed on 7 October 2021 that this request concerned the Risk Management Authority.

I have provided a copy of all of the information you requested below.

The total net operating costs incurred by the Risk Management Authority ("the RMA") from 2014 to 2021 is £8.317m. This figure was obtained from Annual Accounts provided by the RMA for financial years 2014-15 to 2020-21.

With regards to the second part of your request in which you have asked for a record of all engagement between RMA board members and Scottish Government ministers and Cabinet Secretaries from 2014 to the present day, I can provide the following, after a search was conducted of our electronic system(s):

22 January 2018: Letter from RMA Convenor to Cabinet Secretary for Justice providing advice to Scottish Ministers on the application of the Order for Lifelong Restriction 2006-16.

12 July 2018: An invitation was extended to the RMA Convenor, on behalf of the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Veterans, to attend an introductory meeting along with the RMA Chief Executive, but unfortunately the Convenor was unable to attend due to diary commitments.
