Information requested

How much money has been granted from government bodies to Climate Action Strathaven and for a breakdown of each grant, and the reason given for the purpose of such grant.

Response

The answer to your question is that Climate Action Strathaven has been awarded grants through Scottish Government funded programmes as set out below:

The Scottish Government’s sustainable travel grantee, Paths for All, awarded £41,359 through the Smarter Choices Smarter Places Open Fund for the Strathaven Eco Hub. The aims of the project are to promote their e-cargo bike project, e-bike hire and the Car Club in order to increase the number of people using active travel (walking or cycling) for short local journeys.

They were awarded £22,768.20 through the Climate Challenge Asset Fund for an electric vehicle for their car club to help reduce local carbon emissions.

The Scottish Government also funds the Energy Saving Trust to deliver the E-bike Grant Fund and Climate Action Strathaven were awarded funding in September for 5 e-bikes, 2 e-cargos and 2 etrikes. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information requested. You may wish to contact ebikegrantsscot@est.org.uk for any further information you require regarding this grant.
