Descriptions of each grant are as below.Transforming Nurses: The grant raises awareness of the role of nursing in the private sector, promotes nursing as a career choice and influences policy development in relation to recruitment and retention. Nurses: The grant raises awareness of the role of nursing in the private sector, promotes nursing as a career choice and influences policy development in relation to recruitment and retention. Workforce Development: summary of aims and outcomes: • The Workforce Development Grant has allowed Scottish Care (SC) to work closely with other key social care stakeholders including SSSC, Care Inspectorate and CCPS to develop and implement measures to help mitigate against loss of staff. SC has carried out crucial work in support the Scottish Government’ priorities concerning the development of the workforce in the sector, such as: o Promoting and supporting regulation, registration, qualifications and representation o Supporting workforce recruitment and retention in the independent sector o Workforce planning, development, innovation and reform o Front line workforce engagement and development • Scottish Care has played a key role in the work of the National Induction Framework taken forward by Scottish Government, and the Adult Social Care Recruitment Campaign, which have jointly helped reduce some of the recruitment challenges experienced by the sector. • The effective and timely dissemination of guidance and other vital information has been another key outcome of the Grant, which has allowed SC to use a variety of communication channels, such as the Workforce Matters ebulletin, and the regular meetings of the Joint SSSC and Scottish Care Regulatory Forum, ensuring key messages from Scottish Government reach intended audience. |
