Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
Information requested
You asked in which years Scottish Government funded and/or appeared on Jazz and Blues Festival posters in Venues unsuitable for music events due to inadequate soundproofing and close proximity to residents homes and how much funding Scottish Government provided for Jazz and Blues Festival in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Response
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested. We are not able provide an answer as to which years the Scottish Government appeared on Jazz and Blues Festival posters as we have no involvement in the Festival’s marketing or advertising operations. With reference to the other part of your question, regarding the Scottish Government funding for the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival, funding has been awarded through both the EXPO fund and PLACE Programme. The EXPO fund was launched in 2008 to support the continued innovation across Scotland’s leading festivals and to maximise the opportunities for international promotion of Scottish artists. Please see the table below with a breakdown of EXPO funding from 2018 to 2022 as requested.
