6/ What is the number of case worker posts that will be occupied when Redress Scotland is operating at full capacity?

Response

1/ How many applications have been made for redress since the scheme was set up?
1536 applications have been made to Scotland’s Redress Scheme since scheme launch.

2/ How many of these applications have been forwarded to Redress Scotland by the Scottish Government for consideration?
189 applications have been passed to Redress Scotland for determination since scheme launch.

3/ How many of the applications forwarded to Redress Scotland by the Scottish Government have been subject to a final decision and closed?
136 of the 189 applications passed to Scotland’s Redress Scheme have received a determination. It is open to applicants and survivors to request a review in respect of these determinations. Reviews should be requested within 8 weeks from the time the applicant received the initial decision however in exceptional circumstances, Redress Scotland can extend this time period. Accordingly, I cannot advise how many applications are “closed”.

4/ How many case workers were in post at Redress Scotland at the commencement of the scheme?
We have interpreted this questions (as well as questions 4 and 5) to be referring to case workers for Scotland's Redress Scheme. At the time of scheme launch (8 December 2021), 12 case workers were in post.

5/ How many case workers are currently in post at Redress Scotland?

There are currently 16 case workers in post.

6/ What is the number of case worker posts that will be occupied when Redress Scotland is operating at full capacity?
Case worker posts will increase to 22 in the coming months, subject to successful recruitment.
