Education Scotland software used for information requests: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

What software or process Education Scotland uses to process Freedom of Information requests (FOI), Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR) and Environmental Information requests (EIR), and how much this costs Education Scotland each year?

Response

Education Scotland uses the Scottish Government’s Ministerial and Corporate Correspondence system called MiCase to process all of our Freedom of Information requests (FOI) and Environmental Information requests (EIR). All correspondence is logged, acknowledged and replied to through the MiCase system.

Further detail on how to make a FOI or EIR request can be found on our website at: How to contact us | Contact us | Education Scotland

Education Scotland does not have any costs associated with using the Scottish Government’s MiCase system.

To note that all of our FOI and EIR requests/responses are published on the Scottish Government’s website and can be found here: Publications - gov.scot (www.gov.scot).

For all Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR), Education Scotland aims to respond to a request within the statutory timescale of one calendar month, as stated in the UK General Data Protection Regulations.

Further information on the process can be found here: Data protection | Policies and information | Who we are | Education Scotland

Education Scotland does not have any costs associated with processing a DSAR.
