Information requested

In the past five years, how many Police Officers retired from Police Scotland on an ill health pension who were under the age of 55 years of age and retired on the lower tier. Of these retirees on the lower tier, how many were index linked from point of retirement?

Response

Between 01/04/2015 and 11/01/2023, 552 Police Officers retired from Police Scotland due to ill health. 222 Officers retired on a Police Pension Scheme which has no tier split.

Between 01/04/2015 and 11/01/2023, 191 Police Officers retired from Police Scotland on an ill health pension who were under 55 years of age and retired on the lower tier. 133 of these 191 were index linked from point of retirement.
