A9 dualling information: EIR release

Information requested

Following Transport Secretary Jenny Gilruth's statement confirming the A9 will not be dualled by 2025, could I request the following information under Freedom of Information:

1. When did Transport Scotland know finally that the A9 dualling programme could not be completed by 2025?

2. When was this that the A9 dualling programme could not be completed by 2025 information given to the Transport Secretary?

3. When did Transport Scotland receive notification from the sole bidder for the Moy to Tomatin section of their price?

When did Transport Scotland know finally that the A9 dualling programme could not be completed by 2025?

Arising from its ongoing work to determine the optimal procurement approach to the remainder of the programme, Transport Scotland concluded in late 2022 that the completion date of 2025 could not be achieved and should no longer apply to the A9 Dualling programme.

When was this that the A9 dualling programme could not be completed by 2025 information given to the Transport Secretary?

The Minister for Transport was informed on 7 December 2022 of Transport Scotland’s view that the published completion date of 2025 for the dualling of the A9 between Perth and Inverness should no longer apply.

When did Transport Scotland receive notification from the sole bidder for the Moy to Tomatin section of their price?

The tender submission was received by Transport Scotland on 12 October 2022. In accordance with its tender evaluation process, the financial package of the tender submission was not opened until evaluation of the tenderer’s quality submission had been completed. Transport Scotland first became aware of the tenderer’s price on 25 October 2022 when the financial package of the bid was opened.
