  1. What type of board the 25 rooms booked as a block by Scottish Government were booked as?
  2. The bill for the hotel booking and whether the cost for “many of the 25 rooms which were not occupied (as there were only a maximum of 17 people for 3 of the nights and according to flight information even less people were in Sharm on other dates) for 14 nights was used or reallocated for other charges or for different nights”.
  3. Whether there were any staff with flights not booked by Scottish Government staying in Sharm el Sheikh?
  4. Whether Nicola Sturgeon and her SPAD stayed at the same hotel under that booking of if her hotel cost was separate?.

Response

1. What type of board the 25 rooms booked as a block by Scottish Government were booked as?

Bed and breakfast.

2. The bill for the hotel booking and whether the cost for “many of the 25 rooms which were not occupied (as there were only a maximum of 17 people for 3 of the nights and according to flight information even less people were in Sharm on other dates) for 14 nights was used or reallocated for other charges or for different nights”.

Please see details of the hotel booking included in this FOI release. To note 22 of the 25 rooms were used. This includes three rooms which were given to Civ Tech Alliance Partners, who reimbursed Scottish Government for the cost of the rooms.

3. Whether there were any staff with flights not booked by Scottish Government staying in Sharm el Sheikh?

There were no staff with flights not booked by Scottish Government staying in Sharm el Sheikh.

4. Whether Nicola Sturgeon and her SPAD stayed at the same hotel under that booking of if her hotel cost was separate?.
