Information requested
The following information related to Agency staff:
1. Please advise the total spend on recruitment agencies in the 2022-2023 financial year?
- Please breakdown both spend on the agency that finds candidates for job vacancies and agencies that supply temporary staff ?
2. Please advise what the temporary agency spend for admin, call centre, data processing and clerical roles in the 2022-2023 financial year?
3. Please advise what the temporary agency spend for roles such as warehouse, catering and cleaners in the 2022-2023 financial year?
4. Please advise what the permanent agency spend has been in the 2022-2023 financial year?
This was clarified on 28th July to mean spend on agency staff who have been given a permanent contract

Please breakdown both spend on the agency that finds candidates for job vacancies and agencies that supply temporary staff ?
The total value of all contractors and agency staff in relation to the supply of temporary staff was £1452000. SAAS do not use agencies to find candidates for job vacancies.
2. Please advise what the temporary agency spend for admin, call centre, data processing and clerical roles in the 2022-2023 financial year?
The spend on admin, call centre, data processing and clerical roles was £159 000
3. Please advise what the temporary agency spend for roles such as warehouse, catering and cleaners in the 2022-2023 financial year?
These roles come under functions provided by core Scottish Government.
4. Please advise what the permanent agency spend has been in the 2022-2023 financial year?
This was clarified on 28th July to mean spend on agency staff who have been given a permanent contract
SAAS spend was £0. All permanent recruitment follows SAAS HR policies requiring a fair and open process. If a post is currently filled by temporary agency staff then that individual would have to apply through the fair and open process
