Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

1. The Scottish Government pay and grading scales for years 2021-22 and 2022-23.

2. Job description including competencies, pay grades and titles for all legally qualified roles.

Response

1. In regards to question 1 please see attached document titled Scottish Government Main Pay Scales.

2. For question 2 please see attached document titled Legal Roles. Please note where reference is made to SGLD this means Scottish Government Legal Directorate. This documents includes the titles, pay grade and main duties for each legally qualified role as requested. Competencies vary for each specific role within different areas of SGLD therefore we are unable to provide these for all legally qualified role as requested. This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested. However, we can provide the competencies for legal roles that have been advertised since January 2022 which is when we introduced our current recruitment applicant tracking system, iCIMS. You can view these in the attachment titled Legal Role Competencies. We have also identified within the attachment where these roles are not within SGLD.
