Fleet vehicle purchases over £25,000: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

Information on the 14 Flear & Thomson Limited purchases of £30,899.00 published recently.

  1. What make and model were the vehicles?
  2. For what purpose were they purchased?
  3. When was the last time the Government Car Service fleet was upgraded with new vehicles?

I would also like to request all receipts and contracts to the purchase.

Response

The vehicles were Kia Sportage AWD Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV’s), purchased to replace older pool vehicles that had reached the end of their fleet operating cycles.

The most recent purchases for the Government Car Service were made in June 2023, where 3 Volvo V90 PHEV’s were purchased.

All vehicles were procured through a centralised Crown Commercial Services framework; therefore, no receipts or contracts are held by the Scottish Government.

Further information on the frameworks can be found via the following website: Crown Commercial Service - CCS
