Information requested
The First Minister’s speech at a Macquarie Group event on 20 of September, on the early implementation of the US Inflation Reduction Act.
You also requested for a transcript of the First Minister’s remarks and if no transcript was available you asked us to provide whatever notes of his remarks the Scottish Government does hold, including any briefing documents prepared in advance of the First Minister’s appearance at the event.

The information released today includes a briefing for the Macquarie Group event and a Questions and Answers (Q’s & A’s) document prepared for this event.
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because exemptions under sections s.29(1)(a) (policy formulation), s.38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA applies to that information. The reasons why these exemptions have been applied are explained in the Annex to this letter.
