Notes:
1. The Scottish Schools Contact details for local authority schools includes schools and units that have been opened, merged, renamed or provide additional support needs services.

2. The number of schools not inspected in the last ten years is taken as the total number of local authority schools currently open, which have not been inspected since 1 August 2013.

3. The number of schools not inspected in the last five years is taken as the total number of local authority schools currently open, which have not been inspected since 1 August 2018.

4. The figures in Part Two of the response include the figures from Part One of the response.

5. There are currently 28 All-through schools open in Scotland, who deliver primary and secondary education provision. These establishments have been added to the list of secondary schools to meet the criteria of this request.

6. Independent schools are not classified according to primary and secondary education stages, therefore these are not included within the tables above.

7. An inspection is considered to have taken place where it is an original inspection not a further inspection which took place as a result of the outcome of an original inspection.

8. On 13 March 2020, Education Scotland paused all routine inspections of early learning and childcare settings and schools activity due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Routine inspections resumed in September 2022.
