Progress to Net Zero advice: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.


Information requested

A copy of all correspondence between Scottish Government Ministers/Special Advisers/officials and World Leaders regarding the seeing of advice by World Leaders from the Scottish Government on our progress to Net Zero between 31 May 2021 and the present.

Response

I enclose a copy of correspondence from the First Minister to the President of Zambia regarding the Scottish Government providing advice on Net Zero.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because exemptions under sections 32(a), 33(2)(a) and 38(1)(b) of FOISA applies to that information. S.32(a) refers to information which by its disclosure under this Act would, or would be likely to, prejudice substantially relations between the United Kingdom and any other State. S. 33(2)(a) refers to information which by its disclosure under this Act would, or would be likely to, prejudice substantially the economic interests of the whole or part of the UK. S.38(1)(b) refers to data that constitutes personal data that would by its disclosure contravene data protection principles.
