Response
1) How many premises have been connected to superfast broadband to date in the North Lot area?
The Scottish Government’s £600 million Reaching 100% (R100) programme consists of three strands of activity – the three R100 contracts (North, Central and South), our R100 Scottish Broadband Voucher Scheme (R100 SBVS) and commercial coverage.
Our latest available figures show that, as at 30 November 2023, a total of 9,909 premises have received a gigabit-capable, fibre to the premises connection through the rollout of the R100 North contract.
In addition, as at 08 January 2024, a total of 2,282 premises in the R100 North Lot area have received a connection through the R100 SBVS which offers, as a minimum, a superfast download speed.
R100 contract build has also unlocked further connections by Openreach while they have been delivering the contracts across Scotland. As at 30 November 2023, an additional 2,521 connections have been delivered in the R100 North contract area at no additional cost to the Scottish Government. This is known as “contractual overspill” and is not funded as part of the R100 contracts.
2) How many (premises) are still to be connected?
The below table shows the number of premises contracted for delivery, the number of contracted premises delivered, and number of premises still to be connected for the R100 North contract, broken down by Scottish Parliament constituency.
Please note these figures relate to the number of premises contracted for connection via R100 North contract build only. Figures for R100 SBVS cannot be provided because, as it is a demand-led scheme, the Scottish Government does not hold data on the number of premises that will secure a future connection over the lifetime of the R100 SBVS.
R100 North contract build figures are accurate as at 30 November 2023.

3) How much has the contractor been paid to deliver this work to date?
Most recent figures available show that, as at 16 January 2024, payments totalling £89,086,349 have been made for delivery of the R100 North contract.
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not hold a breakdown of the R100 North contract spend by Scottish Parliament constituency. Therefore, under S17(1) of FOISA, this information is not included in this response.
4) Please could you supply any records relating to the proposed roll-out schedule in detail for future years, including maps or other geographical information.
