1. The number of instances in which an EV vehicle has caught fire in each of the last five financial years (including 2023-2024)?

2. The number of instances in which an EV vehicle has broken down in each of the last five financial years (including 2023-2024)?

3. The number of EV vehicles currently in your fleet?

I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested.

No electric vehicles on the Scottish Government fleet have caught fire in any of the last five financial years, including 2023/2024.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested regarding EV breakdowns for financial years 2019/2020, 2020/2021, 2021/2022 and months April to December 2022.

The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for because this information has been routinely deleted, in accordance with our records management practice, before the date of your request.

This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.

We currently operate 53 electric vehicles (EV’s), 97 plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV’s) and 4 electric range extender vehicles.
