Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002


Information requested

For each of the past 7 months (since June 2023), can you please provide the following?

1. The number of approaches to the National Conversion Therapy Helpline by whatever means (call, email, online chat etc.)

2. The number of different individuals represented by this.

3. The number of those individuals whose cases were referred to the police.

4. The number of police referrals resulting in prosecutions under any law.

5. The number of resulting convictions.

I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested.

Question 1

LGBT Health & Wellbeing collect this information quarterly, with the information held covering the period 1 June to 31 December 2023. The number of approaches to the National Conversion Therapy Helpline by whatever means totals at 29 for the aforementioned time period. This can be broken down further by quarter with the total number of approaches for Q2 and Q3 totalling at 21 and 8, respectively.
