Number of times Former First Minister has taken his children on official visits: FOI release

Information requested

Since becoming First Minister, how many times has Humza Yousaf taken his children on official visits, press events etc.

Please provide all documents, emails, briefings, text messages, whatsapps relating to the First Minister bringing his children to work events, visits etc and their provision of care.

Response

The information SG holds indicates that the First Minister Humza Yousaf was accompanied by a dependent child at a volunteering official engagement at the Dundee United Community Trust on 24 December 2023.

Email exchanges regarding the possibility of First Minister being accompanied by a dependent child on 24 December 2023 are attached at Annex A.

Some information has been withheld as an exemption under Section 38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA applies to that information, this is because it is personal data of a third party and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and in Section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018. This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.
