Scottish Government recruitment statistics: FOI release

Information requested

1. Can you please let me know how many vacancies there were in the Scottish Government at B3 grade under the following circumstances during the following dates - October 2022 until April 2023? Please include the Scottish Government agencies in this information.

2. Can you also tell me during October 2022 and April 2023 the number of B3 jobs in the Scottish Government and Scottish Government agencies that were advertised for recruitment under; internal recruitment, external recruitment and managed moves?

3. Can you please provide me with a list of all the vacant / advertised B3 vacancies in the Scottish Government and Scottish Government agencies along with the job titles of these vacant positions that were being recruited, during this period of time from October 2022 until April 2023?

4. Could you please provide me with a breakdown of numbers for each month (October 2022 through to April 2023) for the following B3 vacancies that were recruited; internal recruitment, external recruitment and managed moves?

Response

1. In Glasgow there was 63 B3 vacancies advertised. In Edinburgh there was 140 B3 vacancies advertised.

2. 143 B3 vacancies were advertised internally. 81 B3 vacancies were advertised externally. The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for because managed moves are not captured by our recruitment system, ICIMS. Staff moves are tracked however it is not possible to know these were a result of the managed moves process. This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.

3. Please see the attached spreadsheet for the job titles of these vacancies and the Directorates where they are based.

4. Internal recruitment and external recruitment, broken down by month the numbers are as follows:
