Budget and spend for the Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS): FOI release
Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002
Information requested
1. The budget awarded to SAAS by Scottish Government in its budget document (ie prior to any in year transfer) for "Student Support and Tuition Fee Payments"
2. For each of the same years, the total spend in each year by SAAS under that aggregate category
3. For each year, from within that category of spend:
- Total payments to universities for university tuition fees
- Total payments of bursaries to students on undergraduate and taught postgraduate courses.
Response

Whilst our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) does not hold the data for the categories requested at question 3.
However, the attached table provides information that relates to Higher Education funding as a whole. Therefore, this is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Student Awards Agency Scotland does not have the information you have requested.
Please note: Under FOI legislation SAAS is not required to produce new data in relation to FOI requests. However, further analysis of this data may be available on request as part of a “business as usual” approach by emailing SAASSTATS@gov.scot.
