Response

I will provide an answer to each of your requests in the order they were made in your correspondence.

1. Please confirm the date that Mike Graham ceased to be Vice Chair of the National Appeal Panel and became interim Chair?

Mr Mike Graham took up the position as Chair of the National Appeal Panel (NAP) on 1 April 2012. He vacated his position as Vice Chair on 31 March 2012.

2. Please confirm if the National Appeal Panel has ever had a Vice Chair appointed as per the Control of Entry Regulations and what was the date of when there was last a Vice Chair?

I can confirm that the NAP has had a Vice Chair appointed in the past. There has not been a Vice Chair since 31 March 2012.

3. Please provide details of recruitment campaigns to date to fill the vacant position of Vice Chair once Mike Chair assumed position of Interim Chair?

Based on the assumption that you meant to write ‘Mr Mike Graham’ as opposed to ‘Mike Chair’, I can confirm that there was no recruitment campaign for a Vice Chair (more recently referred to as substitute Chair) since Mr Graham vacated the post to take up the position of Chair of the NAP.

4. Please confirm if the post of Vice Chair is still vacant as of 24/4/24.

I can confirm that the post of substitute (Vice) Chair is currently vacant. A recruitment campaign for a new substitute Chair will begin shortly.
