Grant applications approved by the Scottish Government to the charity Sikhs in Scotland: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

Copies of grant applications that were approved by the Scottish Government since 2018, to the charity Sikhs in Scotland.

Response

I enclose a copy of the information you requested.

Sikhs in Scotland have received the following grants from the Scottish Government since 2018.

£10,000 from the Social Inclusion and Loneliness Winter Fund announced in February 2023.
£70,000 from the Immediate Priorities Fund in April 2020.

The applications for this funding are attached. Please note that in particular for the Immediate Priorities Fund, as an emergency pandemic measure, was explicitly intended to have a very light-touch application process with as little administrative burden as possible for applicants.

I note the concerns you have stated as the reasons for making your request. I have passed that information on to appropriate colleagues to consider to ensure that Scottish Government funding has been disbursed appropriately.
