Euro 2024 tickets for Scottish Government staff: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

How many tickets have the Scottish Government requested for any Euro 2024 games for Scottish Government staff, officials such as cab sec, FM?

If possible, can we have a break of who the tickets are for and for what games?

Has anyone in the Scottish Government officials or staff been offered tickets that isn't the SFA?

If the new FM John Swinney has been given tickets will the Scottish Government have to request new tickets due to the change from Humza Yousaf as FM?

Response

The answers to your questions are, the Scottish Government has been offered an allocation of 6 tickets for the opening match and 4 for both subsequent group matches. These form part of a UEFA allocation specifically for Government representatives of competing nations and will be returned to UEFA if not used.

At this time, arrangements are still being finalised as to who from the Scottish Government will attend each match.

Officials from the Scottish Government are also taking part in UEFA's Future Organiser Programme in preparation for hosting in 2028, which includes 2 tickets for matches which do not involve Scotland. Arrangements are yet to be finalised regarding attendance.

We are not aware of tickets being offered to the Scottish Government other than as outlined above.
