National Treatment Centres and drugs policy: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.


Information requested

1(a) Could you supply all correspondence sent and received by the Scottish Government, including internally, briefings, analysis andminutes/notes, about national treatment centres being built, from the last six months?

1(b) Could you also supply the current completion dates for each one?

2) Could you supply all correspondence sent and received by the Scottish Government, including internally, briefings, analysis and minutes/notes, about the naming of the NHS Louisa Jordan?

3) The national treatment centres were meant to be conducting 40,000 inpatient procedures from next year to drive down waiting lists as part of the SNP's NHS recovery plan, what is the current estimate to how much they will conduct?

4) Could you supply all analysis conducted by or for the Scottish Government into places where drugs are decriminalised like San Francisco and Portland, from the last six months?

5) Could you supply all correspondence between the UK Government and Scottish Government about drugs policy, including internally, plus all briefings about this, from the last six months?

6) Could you supply all correspondence between Edinburgh City Council and Scottish Government about a drug facility feasibility study, as well as any briefings or analysis about this topic, from the last six months?

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because an exemption(s) under section(s) S.38(1)(b) – Personal Information, S.30(C) – The Effective Conduct Of Public Affairs, S.29 – Formulation of Scottish Administration Policy, S.30(b)(i) – Free and Frank Provision of Advice, S.28 - Relations within the United Kingdom and S.17(1) of FOISA – the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested.

Question 6 cannot be answered as it is exempt under S.29 – Formulation of Scottish Administration Policy.
