Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

EU structural funds initially allocated to Scotland during the 2014-2020 programme totalled €941 million, split between €476 million for the European Regional Development Fund and €465 million for the European Social Fund.

Please provide any information held by the Scottish Government on how much of this initial €941 million allocation cannot now be claimed from the EU. Furthermore, please provide a breakdown of the total amount which cannot now be claimed by the reasons for which it cannot now be claimed.

Response

€158m of the original allocation can no longer be claimed back from the EC. The EC reduced the original allocation to Scotland as a result of Lead Partners failing to meet annual financial spending
targets.
